• Acted as a counsel for one of world’s leading remote mobile application testing company on issues involving viability of business model in India particularly from information technology security perspective, including approvals required from Department of Telecom and Ministry of Finance.
  

• Represented one of the world’s largest commodity trading companies, in establishment of factory and warehouses in the states of Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh, including obtaining all approvals for operation of the factory such as environment clearances, factory license and liaising with excise department, Department of Industrial Safety and Health, land officials etc.
  

• Representing a global leader in manufacture of smart cards in establishment of factory in Haryana, various income tax, service tax and excise disputes including claims relating to mis-declaration. Successfully resolved a number of the tax disputes to the satisfaction of the company, without resorting to litigation.
  

• Successfully advised world’s leading multi-national company in the business of rail equipment, brake systems and related products for locomotives, on a highly sensitive matter, dealing with Ministry of Railways, including policy & procedure changes.
  

• Advised one of the world’s largest pistachio manufacturers on custom regulations, customs tariff and on procedures required for reduction in the customs duty on import of raw pistachio and ancillary products and seasonings, including dealing with senior bureaucrats in the Revenue Services, Ministry of Agriculture and other functionaries in Ministry of Finance and Commerce.
  

• Acting for one of the world’s largest insurance companies on entry strategies into the non-life sector, Government regulations for obtaining licenses and liaised with the Insurance Regulatory Development Authority.
  

• Represent a logistics company, which has a patented multi-modal intermediate bulk container with various customs issues in India, including liaising with Ministry of Finance on modification of tariffs and customs department on amendment of regulations leading to re-categorization of containers and lower customs duty.
  

• Acted as Indian counsel for large and reputed technology multinational with headquarters in USA acquiring another multinational with a large R & D centre in India, as part of a global merger worth US$ 323 million. Also, advised on cleanup of acquired company including issues relating to mis-declaration leading to service tax claims, illegal procurement of products from domestic market without paying excise duty, non-compliance with various STPI regulations, various income tax and transfer pricing violations. Successfully liaised with relevant Government agencies and resolved all issued without resorting to litigation.
  

• Acting for one of the largest e-publishing companies in USA on obtaining all the regulatory approvals, including contractual documentation, registration and compliance with the Software Technology Parks of India scheme of the Government of India and advise on service tax and income tax issues, specially related to categorization of service provider.
  

• Advised the developer of India’s first toll road between New Delhi and NOIDA, U.P, on matters involving change in the accounting policies and treatment of loss and depreciation, including liaising with Ministry of Company Affairs on approvals for such changes.
  

• Acting for one of the world’s largest cigarette manufacturers on restructuring their business in India, amending industrial license, expanding production, increase in shareholding including dealing with Ministry of Health, Department of Industry and Ministry of Labour.
  

• Advising one of the world’s largest food processing and manufacturing companies on obtaining all necessary approvals and maintaining all regulatory compliances, relating to factory, environment, warehousing, packaging and labeling etc. Also, advised on current regulations for import of certain food products and liaised with Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Commerce to reduce import tariffs for certain products being imported from US.
  

• Advised a UK based adventure tourism company in setting-up operations in India, including obtaining various approvals required for development of required infrastructure, real estate and employment. Agencies included a number of agencies in the Rajasthan Government and also liaised with Ministry of Tourism for classification of company under a special category, which exempts these unique services from service tax.
  

• Representing a supplier of products, services and systems to the global rail industry in dispute relating to supply of components, including representation before the relevant government agencies such as Railway Board.
